Legally Exempt Enrollment Services
As of August 1, 2006, the Child Care Resource Network became the Enrollment Agency for Legally Exempt or Informal providers. The agency works closely with the Erie County Department of Social Services to ensure that the application process for those individuals wishing to provide Legally Exempt care in their homes or the homes of their clients is handled promptly. Technical Assistance and Training
The Child Care Resource Network has professionals on staff to provide technical assistance and/or training to meet your individual needs. Legally Exempt or Informal providers can receive Technical Assistance, Training and Financial support from the Child Care Resource Network. Legally Exempt providers desiring to become licensed or registered providers are encouraged to attend the free Introducation to Family Child Care class offered at the Resource Network. For more information or to register for the class, contact Karen Scott at 877-6666, extension 3035.
Health and Safety Grants
The Health and Safety Grant Program provides common health and safety items such as smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and cribs/cots at no charge to Legally Exempt providers. Funding is made possible through funding from the New York State Office of Children and Families.

Child and Adult Care Food Program
Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is a federally funded program. The program offers cash reimbursement to legally exempt, registered and licensed child care providers for meals served to children in their care.
