Financial Assistance for child care is available through Erie County Department of Social Services, and YMCA.

Child Care Subsidy is available through Erie County Department of Social Services for low income families. You should contact Erie County Department of Social Services at 716-858-8953 to determine if you are eligible for a child care subsidy. YMCA also offers discounts on their child care programs for eligible families. Discounts may be available if you do not qualify for Erie County Child Care Subsidy and meet YMCA income guidelines. Contact your local YMCA branch for more information.

Tip for making child care affordable

You should also inquire about fees at each child care program you are interviewing. Ask if the program offers sibling discounts, scholarships, or a sliding fee scale.
